Adaptive Deck Loading Monitor
Two stages, one record. Vidar smart cameras at the ramp capture what actually drove aboard, in both directions. Intellio cameras on the decks follow each unit to its final position.

The Adaptive Deck Loading Monitor works in two places. Shore side, Vidar smart cameras mounted around the ferry ramps read every vehicle as it drives aboard and as it drives off again — the ground truth for what is actually on the ship. On board, Intellio marine cameras confirm each unit reaches its assigned deck position. Together they protect turnaround times and remove misload risk.

Vidar smart cameras at the ramps and Intellio cameras on the decks both run recognition at the edge. Reads land in GDS — live from the quay, and by automatic upload from the vessel after every crossing — where they are enriched and surfaced on the loading dashboard.
Ramp capture, shore side
Vidar smart cameras around the ramp read every plate, make and model as the unit drives aboard — and read them again on the way off. One camera covers two lanes, in both directions.
Deck routing
Wide-angle cameras inside the vessel track the vehicle through deck level transitions and tail-back. The booking record is matched against the assigned deck.
Park confirmation
A camera at each deck row confirms the final park position. The load plan turns green in real time and the next vehicle is released onto the ramp.
Audit & analytics
GDS keeps a time-stamped, image-backed audit trail of every loading sequence — exportable for billing, claims, and continuous turnaround optimisation.

The ramp read and the deck confirmation are two halves of the same record: what drove aboard, and where it ended up.
Values shown are one illustrative event. Fields marked as an option are fitted only where a site asks for them.
What the vessel writes to GDS.
The ramp cameras run ashore and report live. On board, the system runs in dual-direction mixed traffic across 4–6 lanes per deck: cameras record continuously at sea, and the moment the ferry docks and the port link comes up, everything syncs to GDS automatically.

Built for life at sea
Connectivity at sea is never assumed: the onboard servers store everything locally and hand it to the port's GDS as soon as the vessel is alongside and the shore link is available. No crossing is ever lost to a dead link.

Vidar Ramp Cameras
Standalone smart cameras mounted around the ferry ramps, shore side, reading every vehicle in both the incoming and outgoing direction. ANPR, make-and-model recognition and lane detection run on the camera itself; a single unit typically covers two lanes. Available in Full HD and 5-megapixel versions, and in service at Scandlines around the ramps at Rødby.
Intellio Cameras
ANPR and CCTV cameras from Intellio — Adaptive Recognition's video-analytics daughter company (intellio.eu). They record the vehicle decks 24/7 throughout the crossing, in housings built for salt spray and direct ramp lighting.
Wide-Angle Coverage Cameras
Overhead 180° fisheye sensors track vehicle movement across entire deck rows. Stitched feeds drive the loading visualisation in GDS.
GDS Integration
Onboard video servers store every event locally and sync to the Globessey Data Server the moment the vessel docks and the shore link is available. GDS then exposes REST and MQTT feeds for terminal operating systems and powers the load-plan dashboards.
